For this sculpturegroup Scoppola has based the name on a play with the English language combined with the characteristics of the sculptures, partly with their size and partly their composition as a group.
The word ‘School’ alludes both to the English meaning for a school of fish as well as an elementary school, given that the group is made up by a school of smaller fish
