Around - A solo exhibition by Margareta Sieradzki

Lindberg-on-Sea Art Gallery has this November the pleasure to present the second solo exhibition by Margareta Sieradzki; ‘Around’.

In this exhibition Margareta has, through her clean and pure brushstrokes, placed the climate change issue in focus with the waters cycle as epicenter;
The water which evaporates from the oceans to fall as rain over the mountains and then flow back again out into the oceans, on its way passing man’s creations of fishermen’s cottages, sea marks and ships.
Margareta wishes with her exhibition to remind us of the water’s eternal cycle at the same time as she emphasizes our continual presence in nature, on land as well as in the world oceans.
A presence that does not in all respects need to be destructive, but in many cases is an attempt of man to partake in her surroundings, a will to become a part of the world oceans’ vast greatness.
A reminder that we all can make changes for a healthier world at the same time as we live more in symbiosis with our planet.
Margareta has for several of her paintings; ’Tellus I’, ’Tellus II’ and ‘Norra Ishavet III’, taken inspiration from the Russian cosmonaut Jurij Aleksejevitj Gagarin’s statement from his journey as the first man in space during the early 1960s;

”’I see Earth. It is so beautiful! […] People, let us preserve and increase this beauty, not destroy it!’
As Jurij describes Earth’s characteristic blue halo – from a light-blue hue to a darker and deeper blue nuance – I wish to recreate his image with my simple, pure brushstrokes.”

Margareta strives to maintain the natural and simple in her paintings. She works both with abstract shapes and also with figurative motifs where a more playful side is shown.
All pieces are madeon the floor where fabric, often fixed to a mdf board, become the basis – providing the painting with its natural and exposed structure – a broad paintbrush makes the instrument – enriching the purity of the strokes – and vivid colours forms the image – further enhancing the clarity of the brush strokes.
